Sliding gates have a single leaf that moves along the fence or guide rail, opening the entire width of the entrance — this is especially convenient for properties with limited space in front of the entry.
The gate structure consists of a frame made of rectangular or square profile steel pipe (typically 60x30, 60x40, 80x40 mm with wall thickness from 2 to 4 mm), support posts (steel, concrete, or on screw piles considering the sandy soils of the UAE), an opening mechanism, and leaf infill. All metal components undergo anti-corrosion treatment — hot-dip galvanizing or powder coating with UV protection, resistant to sun fading. Swing gates are the simplest and most affordable design, well suited for private villas, country residences (in the UAE context — estates in Ras Al Khaimah or Abu Dhabi), construction sites, and storage areas. The structure consists of two support posts and two leaves, each made of a welded frame and infill. Support posts can be steel (poured into a concrete foundation), concrete, or on screw piles — for sandy soils we recommend a pile-and-beam foundation with depth from 80 to 120 cm depending on wind load. Hinges for mounting the leaves are welded at the factory or on site with precise vertical and horizontal adjustment.
For villas and residences, infill materials most commonly used are corrugated sheet with polymer coating (thickness 0.4-0.7 mm, wave height 8-35 mm), double-sided metal pickets (providing the same appearance from both sides), aluminum louvers (European louvers with angled slats for ventilation and privacy), and forged steel elements with powder coating. For temporary fencing and construction sites, chain-link mesh or welded 3D mesh is suitable. For garage gates inside buildings or underground parking, we use steel sheets with thickness from 1.5 to 3 mm or sandwich panels with thickness from 40 to 80 mm with PIR insulation — especially important for cooled garages where temperatures need to be maintained below +30°C.

Sliding gates open by moving the leaf parallel to the fence line — this is an ideal solution for properties with limited space in front of the entrance where swing leaves would not have enough room. The structure includes support posts (typically reinforced, from 100x100 mm pipe or I-beam), a frame from profile pipe, and a roller mechanism with a bottom rail or cantilever beam. For leaf cladding, corrugated sheet (for solid gates), Gitter mesh (welded mesh with 50x50 or 100x100 mm cells for see-through gates), or aluminum profiles with horizontal slats for modern design are most commonly used.
By design, sliding gates come in three types. Suspended — the leaf moves on rollers along a top beam mounted above the opening. Rail-mounted — the leaf moves on rollers along a bottom rail laid in a concrete foundation. Cantilever — the leaf does not contact ground elements and has no overhead limiters; the leaf is suspended on special roller blocks and a guide beam that is one and a half times longer than the opening width. In the sandy soil conditions of the UAE, we typically recommend cantilever sliding gates because they do not get clogged with sand and require no cleaning of the bottom rail.

Depending on the model, the operator may have manual release functions (for opening gates during a power outage), position memory for opening and closing, automatic closing after a set time (from 10 to 120 seconds), obstacle detection (infrared photocells or motor current sensors), and integration with a smart home system. All automation systems are adapted for operation at temperatures up to +50°C and have a water protection rating of at least IP44.
